Responsibilities
Recommend and implement Human Resources policies and objectives to support teammate relations, human capital management, labor, and employment law/compliance.
Partner with management to interpret and apply Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws.
Provide day-to-day consultation, advice, and/or training to managers on counseling techniques, conflict resolution, performance issues, documentation, and disciplinary procedures for all hourly teammates.
Address teammate relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other teammate concerns. ? Review, guide, and approve management recommendations for employment terminations as needed for all hourly teammates; ensures that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
Manage and resolve complex hourly teammate relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations as needed, maintaining detailed notes and documentation.
Collaborate with management and teammates to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Coordinate EEOC, DFEH, DOL, FLSA, etc. complaint responses while partnering with the Director of People and legal counsel to determine appropriate course of action.
Oversee the Unemployment Insurance Program, monitor trends, performance, and vendor relationship.
Ensure compliance with AB 1825 training. ? Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Wage & Hour laws to ensure compliance
Worker’s Compensation & Safety
Point of contact for teammates seeking HR assistance regarding safety training, anti-harassment training and compliance.
Respond to requests for information related to worker’s compensation claims and unemployment claims to include facilitating the return-to-work program and being a liaison between teammates and insurance carriers.
Establish and maintain contact with injured employees and provide assistance with claims and obtaining health care.
Communicate with workers' compensation insurance carrier, doctors, nurses, departments, and health care providers to enable appropriate processing of claims.
Provide metrics regarding unemployment and workers compensation claims.
Qualifications & Experience
Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in human resources.
Maintain confidentiality, utilize discretion and independent judgment in decision making, and act with integrity at all times.
Proven conflict resolution and skills and the ability to influence others across all levels.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate to teammates across all levels.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Trusting, passionate, humble and gracious.

A plus to have:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
Minimum of two years resolving complex employee relations.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment super awesome.
Proven strength in providing counsel and feedback to restaurant managers with diplomacy.
Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including organizational diagnosis, employee relations, performance management, and federal and state laws respective to employment laws.
