Chubb is currently seeking a Workers\u2019 Compensation Senior Lost Time Claim Examiner for our Los Angeles office.\u00A0 The successful applicant will be handling claims from multiple jurisdictions in the West Region. The position will report to a Claim Manager in Los Angeles. This is not a fully remote position as all employees are required to be in the office 3 days per week
\t- Handles the largest, most complex workers\u2019 compensation lost time claims
\t- Requires minimal oversight to independently handle all aspects of workers\u2019 compensation lost time claims from set-up to case closure ensuring strong customer relations are maintained throughout the process
\t- Works with Manager and Regional Executive Claim Director on complex matters
\t- Provides direct updates to Regional Executive Claim Director on claims being directly handled
\t- Serves as a subject matter expert for the department
\t- Provides project management on regional initiatives
\t- Provides backup to Manager during PTOs
\t- Reviews claim and policy information to provide background for investigation
\t- Conducts 3-part ongoing investigations, obtaining facts and taking statements as necessary, with insured, claimant and medical providers\u00A0
\t- Evaluates the facts gathered through the investigation to determine compensability of the claim
\t- Informs insureds, claimants, and attorneys of claim denials when applicable
\t- Prepares reports on investigation, settlements, denials of claims and evaluations of involved parties, etc.
\t- Timely administration of statutory medical and indemnity benefits throughout the life of the claim\u00A0
\t- Sets reserves within authority limits for medical, indemnity and expenses and recommends reserve changes to Team Leader throughout the life of the claim
\t- Reviews the claim status at regular intervals and makes recommendations to Team Leader to discuss problems and remedial actions to resolve them
\t- Prepares and submits to Team Leader unusual or possible undesirable exposures when encountered\u00A0
\t- Works with attorneys to manage hearings and litigation
\t- Controls and directs vendors, nurse case managers, telephonic cases managers and rehabilitation managers on medical management and return to work initiatives\u00A0\u00A0
\t- Complies with customer service requests including Special Claims Handling procedures, file status notes and claim reviews
\t- Files workers\u2019 compensation forms and electronic data with states to ensure compliance with statutory regulations
\t- Prior experience as a Lost Time Claim Examiner
\t- Works with autonomy and showcases venue expertise
\t- Serves as a mentor and leader to staff at all levels
\t- Utilizes influence management skills to drive results, consistency amongst peers and as motivation
\t- Provides project management
\t- Serves as a subject matter expert for all venues on workers\u2019 compensation statutes, regulations, and compliance matters

Qualifications
\t- 8 plus years of prior Workers\u2019 Compensation Lost Time claim handling experience
\t- Experience working in a customer focused, fast-paced, fluid environment
\t- Experience utilizing strong communication and telephonic skills
\t- Prior experience demonstrating a high level of organization, follow-up, and accountability\u00A0
\t- Experience with litigation management
\t- Experience with subrogation investigations
\t- Experience with fraud investigations
\t- Experience with medical case management
\t- Knowledge of medical terminology
\t- Conduct reserve analyses to ensure adequacy and demonstrate financial acumen .
\t- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
\t- If you do not already have one, you will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjusters license and possibly additional state licensure.\u00A0
The pay range for the role is $71,500 to $115,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant\u2019s skills and other factors.
