What will I be doing in this role?
The Associate Director, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) oversees a comprehensive Work and Life Matters Program and Department. The Associate Director develops and delivers educational programs to leaders and employees across the organization, makes budgetary recommendations, manages staff, and oversees external vendor work and their outcomes; as well as oversees the internal and marketing strategies and outreach efforts. The Associate Director provides and participates in confidential clinical and threat assessments, oversees, and provides critical incidents coordination and support, as well as fitness for duty collaborations and provides recommendations and consultation. Additionally, is responsible for the strategic growth and continued success of the Patient Relations programs across Cedars-Sinai.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees EAP Professionals who assist in addressing and resolving personal concerns, including health, marital, family, financial, alcohol, drug, legal, emotional, stress or other personal issues that may affect job performance or quality of life issues.
- Oversees the employee assistance function, the department, and staff. Provides leadership, mentoring and guidance to team of clinical and support staff to address complex questions and issues with the goal of meeting client and business leader and organizational needs.
- Oversees Work and Life Matters program development, implementation, and administration. Participates in strategic planning, both long and short-term. Introduces changes and innovations to serve Cedars-Sinai effectively and appropriately. Designs and implements specialized projects as needed.
- Provides recommendations to the Executive Director on department goals, objectives, as well as on the annual budget and financial planning.
- Evaluates department and Work and Life Matters' policies, procedures, practices and needs through data and trend analysis to make organizational recommendations.
- Conducts confidential clinical assessments, referrals regarding fitness for duty, threat assessments, DV clients and provides recommendations to HR and/or leadership regarding each case type.
- Oversees the marketing of department and program services, intranet content and/or other department/program marketing materials.
- Collaborates with GMEC through meeting participation, support of residents needing remediation assistance, overseeing, and facilitating Resident Wellness Groups.
Education and License Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Marriage and Family or related field.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker, requires one of the following licenses issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor, or Licensed Educational Psychologists.
- Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) within one year from hire date preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- Seven years of experience in Employee Assistance Program (EAP) field: management consultation, employee assessment, referral and follow up and/or training.
- One year Experience with Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) trained in “Mitchel Model”.
- Three years of in-house EAP experience is preferred.
