A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's Degree is required. Four years of full time paid management or administrative experience is required. (Substitution: Two years of experience may substitute for each year of college education lacking. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.
Supplemental Information
Additional Duties: Designs, codes, and documents completes large-scale software applications and associated equipment (hardware & software) for those projects. Converts symbolic statements of problems to detailed logical flow charts for coding into applications and solution. Prepares block diagrams, corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, and compiles documentation or program development.
Works under the general guidance of the Commissioner and may provide supervision to one or more system analyst, software analyst and project & program managers for a particular project. Necessitates independent judgment and initiative in performing duties of a non-routine/complex nature. Formulates recommendations on routine problems of a technical nature with limited guidance and the feasibility of various programming system approaches. Requires continual communications with those internal and external sources necessary to ensure proper and timely project completion. Performs other job-relate duties as required.
TYPICAL TASKS:
Performs technical work of a professional level using both standard and non-standard design and advanced programming techniques.
Conducts detailed analysis and study of all system requirements and develops methods for problem solution, producing high level systems flow and/or associated documentation.
From high level flow charts, develops detailed coding level flow charts and associated documents and codes assigned program using machine and/or compiler programming languages.
Tests the computer programs and revises and refines, as required, all documents used throughout the program as the testing is completed.
Reviews existing programs to make refinements, reduce operating time, improve present techniques, etc.
Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. An Associate's Degree in Computer Science or closely related field from an accredited college or university required. One year of full time paid experience in a networking environment in the analysis, design, and programming of computer systems required. (Substitution: One year of experience may substitute for each year of college education lacking.) Must have formal Network training and must have a working knowledge of various programming languages.
