Ready to join NGA’s Enterprise Architecture & Engineering Group and provide critical Agile leadership to (1) NGA’s adoption of Agile at Scale (Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 6.0) and (2) the establishment of an Enterprise Agile Product Delivery Team, guiding Major System Acquisition and Special Interest Acquisition Projects (MSAs / SIAs), Integrated Program Offices (IPOs), and Organizations to apply agile best practices consistent with SAFe? Your efforts are essential to modernize NGA’s enterprise engineering, development, and integration processes, to drive the orchestrated and timely delivery of GEOINT mission capabilities.
We are looking for a highly experienced, SAFe trained and certified Release Train Engineer (RTE) to work across cross-organizational, integrated project teams supporting NGA’s highest priority initiatives to establish Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to align, prioritize, and orchestrate the development of enterprise services and mission capabilities. You will work alongside Government Leadership to support the development of strategy, roadmaps, and executable plans. You will build effective relationships and coach Government Business and Product Owners, Leadership, Stakeholders, and Scrum Teams to ensure the success of the ART.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
As the RTE, you will serve as the servant leader and coach for the ART. You have demonstrated fluency in Jira and Agile artifact development. You have the hands-on experience and proven ability to perform the following duties:
Determine Planning Interval (PI) Schedule
Facilitate ART events and processes (e.g., Scrum of Scrums, PI Planning Event (PIPE), PI System Demos, Inspect and Adapt, Retrospective and Problem Solving Workshops)
Support PI Execution
Optimize ART flow
Assist Agile Teams in delivering value
Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis; identify agile metrics for the ART and establish repeatable processes for metrics collection and reporting to Government Leadership
Coach and assist Product Management and System Architects with Feature development, as they learn agile practices
Lead stand-up of ART Backlog (in Jira) and coach / assist with continuous backlog grooming and management practices
Escalate impediments
Manage risk
Drive process improvements
Educate new ART members on SAFe 6.0 and NGA’s adoption of Agile at Scale
As NGA matures in Agile adoption, help lead establishment of Solution Trains and large solution PI planning that requires the coordination of multiple ARTs and Suppliers
As a SAFe agile SME, partner with NGA’s Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE) and provide agile expertise to key initiatives (e.g., NGA’s adoption of Lean Portfolio Management; facilitation of Value Stream Workshops with IPOs/Organizations; development of artifacts/materials to educate the NGA workforce on agile)

Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or other related STEM degree program, or related equivalent additional experience of 4 years with no degree and 2 years with a non-STEM degree.
Demonstrated experience providing guidance and direction in high technology programs.
12+ years of experience in guidance, consultation, facilitation, and thought leadership to the client and/or project team based on specialized in-depth expertise in such fields as:
Engineering and technology
Policy and administration
Program management
Planning
Analysis
Training and development
Facilities
Communications
Visual design
Human capital
Business
Demonstrated experience with Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
Demonstrated experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE).
SAFe Agilist 5.0 (or above) certification.
Fluency in Jira.
TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.
Familiarity with modern software development practices (e.g., CI/CD, Microservices, PaaS).
Familiarity with Enterprise Engineering Configuration Management/Request for Change processes.
Familiarity with Major System Acquisitions (MSAs) (e.g., Milestones / Gates, Artifacts, Acquisition Processes).
Documented work experience and demonstrated knowledge in the field of geospatial intelligence, with NGA and/or its Mission Partners.

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
