The University of Southern California is seeking a Digital Content Producer that will be responsible for creating digital content for USC Online, Global Initiatives and Pre-College Programs.
This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate with a wide range of roles and departments, and an inherent drive to create high-quality work. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a keen understanding of the target audiences and objectives, playing the lead role in the creation of social media plans and content, as well as new and refreshed articles. The candidate will also identify photography and video content that reinforces the brand and drives user engagement.
The Digital Content Producer will report to the Digital Content and Communications Manager. As we add to our team, we are looking for collaborative individuals who are comfortable in a start-up environment and excited by innovative ideas and dedicated to producing compelling, best-in-class digital content.
Job Accountabilities
Plan, write, develop, edit and publish social media content for USC Online and USC Pre-College Programs.
Write and edit marketing campaigns for email, social, blogs, infographics, etc.
Produce and write editorial articles for USC Online, Global Initiatives and Pre-College Programs that utilize up-to-date SEO strategies to maximize organic search results.
Work closely with leadership and webmaster to accomplish site objectives.
Source articles and video content that can be repurposed, propose new content to be created.
Oversee aspects of content creation, work collaboratively, efficiently and effectively with related university units.
Determine writing and editorial assignments, ensure accuracy and timely completion of deliverables.
Identify new or refreshed ways for better school collaboration.
Monitor and track SEO performance, work with Digital Content and Communications Manager to make adjustments accordingly.
Develop and manage publication calendars and ensure timely completion of publications and projects.
Assist Chief Marketing Officer and other department leaders with special projects related to writing and editing, as needed.
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $37.61 to $38.46. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
Experience and skills:
3+ years of experience in content writing and/or editing in the digital space
Strong understanding of social media platforms and social media content creation
Strong understanding of SEO strategy, reporting and metrics
Proficiency in Canva, Sendible, WordPress, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager
Strong attention to detail
Mastery of grammar, punctuation and spelling
Self-motivated and flexible, requires little management
Ability to maintain a sense of humor
