Job Abstract

American Martyrs is a dynamic Catholic community that is looking for a faith-filled, self-starter to manage our Facilities and Events and support our pastor, parish staff, ministry leaders, volunteers and visitors in fulfilling our mission to be a welcoming community, helping one another to live and witness to our faith in Christ, so that through our actions God’s love prevails.

The Facilities and Events Manager will, among other things:

• Schedule and book all parish facilities by responding pastorally to electronic, phone and in-person requests to use parish facilities and schedule events including parish, school, preschool and school of religious education meetings, retreats and other events, as well as funeral receptions, fundraisers and other outside user events
• Proactively manage all large events by anticipating and responding to user needs
• Supervise the proper care, maintenance and use of facilities by users
• Ensure all facilities are clean, restocked and properly staged and that all equipment is functioning reliably before and after events
• Manage FOB and key distribution and access
• Utilize various software solutions for calendaring and managing events

Qualifications of our ideal candidate include:

• Relevant experience in facilities and event management
• Ability to use problem solving skills in a compassionate and pastoral manner
• Ability to effectively communicate in verbal, electronic and written forms
• Proficiency in relevant event scheduling and management software applications and ability to learn and effectively use Elexio Community Church Management Software
• Ability to use A/V equipment and train others in its use
• Experience working within a faith-based community is an asset.
• Work ethic and an outlook that are compatible with the mission and values of the parish.
• Hours may be flexible and will include daily time in the parish office, remote time and some time on evenings and weekends depending on the events schedule

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
