Position Summary:
Reporting to the Cancer Center supervisor, the clinical nurse provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Cancer Center. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Assists in patient research accrual by varied projects and reviewing patient schedules against available protocols. Acts as a role model to students and Clinical Nurse's new to the unit. Functions as a (PCC)Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager.

Salary Range:
Hourly Rate Minimum $59.93 Midpoint $71.10 Maximum $82.27
Required Qualifications:
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Minimum of six months demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care setting
Current California RN license
Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques
Knowledge and practice of body mechanics
Knowledge and practice of age related acuity levels
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Demonstrated strong customer service skills
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
Current BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Chemotherapy Certification
Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
Previous Radiation Oncology RN experience
Understanding of JCAHO requirements
