PIH Health is seeking a dedicated Material Management Technician to join our team at PIH Health Downey Hospital (PHDH). This full-time, regular/at-will position is integral to the smooth operation of our healthcare services, ensuring that all materials and supplies are managed efficiently to support patient care. The Material Management Technician will be responsible for the accurate and efficient execution of duties including cart exchange, maintenance of sterile supplies, organization of storage areas, and management of inventory and patient charging systems. This role is a shared position across all Material Management cost centers, requiring a versatile and collaborative approach to support various departments within the organization. PIH Health is a nonprofit, regional healthcare network that serves approximately 3 million residents in the Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Gabriel Valley region. Our network includes multiple hospitals, outpatient medical buildings, a multispecialty medical group, and comprehensive home healthcare services. We are recognized for excellence in patient care and experience, and we are committed to providing cutting-edge advancements and quality healthcare technology. As a Material Management Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the standards of care that PIH Health is known for. The successful candidate will be responsible for the receipt, issuance, labeling, and shelving of medical and surgical supplies, utilizing computerized inventory systems to track and manage stock levels. You will work closely with clinical staff to ensure that all materials are available when needed and that inventory is maintained in a cost-effective manner. The salary for this position ranges from $16.04 to $26.47 per hour, depending on experience. This is an entry-level role that offers the opportunity to grow within a leading healthcare organization.

Required Experience
High School diploma or GED preferred
1 to 2 years of experience in material management or related field
Experience with medical/surgical product handling preferred
Prior experience in hospital supply distribution preferred
Basic experience with Windows and mouse operation preferred
Understanding of healthcare supply chain management is a plus
Experience working in a healthcare setting is advantageous
Familiarity with health and safety regulations within a hospital environment
