The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students.

Job Summary
OCDE's Educational Services Division is dedicated to supporting professional learning for Orange County school districts. Through our collective capacity, Educational Services provides high quality and sustainable professional learning that enhances the professional capital of the community we serve. We provide support to LEAs in Orange County which focus on academic, behavioral, and social success for all learners. OCDE is currently recruiting for a dynamic Coordinator, Inclusive Practices.

The Systemic Leadership and Continuous Improvement (SLCI) Unit falls under the umbrella of the Educational Services Division. Staff provide professional development, consultation, and technical assistance to district leaders and school staff. The team includes coordinators and program specialist staff with expertise in implementing all aspects of the California Multi-tiered System of Support (CA MTSS), Community Schools, and Continuous Improvement, focusing on the needs of the whole child. This Coordinator will support district and school staff using evidence-based inclusive teaching practices across general and special education settings, ensuring students' progress toward grade-level proficiency, and incorporating Universal Design For Learning (UDL), Co-Teaching and differentiated instruction. Moreover, the Coordinator will serve as a consultant, delivering training sessions and professional development opportunities to educators throughout Orange County on the CA MTSS framework and use of data for decision making related to evidenced based instruction and intervention.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
• Master’s degree in Special Education from an accredited college or university with major course work in education, education administration, or a related field.
• Five years of increasingly responsible educational experience including two years of administrative service in a public school setting.
Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements:
• A valid California Administrative Services Credential or Special Education teaching credential, or a PPS and an Educational Specialist credential.
