We are looking for an Mechanical Assembler I that will be responsible for general mechanical assembly and disassembly of Pumps, mixers, generators, Welders which includes but is not limited to; mounting, drilling, grinding, altering, and aligning assemblies, minor wiring, Soldering, Welding and assembly of subassemblies.
Responsibilities
Studies assembly instructions, prints, and specifications to determine parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units.
Gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes in parts, using drill presses, portable drills, and impacts.
Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
File, lap, and buff parts to fit, using hand and power tools.
Inspect and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications.
Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts.
Assist with building sub-assemblies, pumps, mixers, trailers ETC.
Maintains inventory levels by checking the stock required for everyday assembly.
Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies, using grease paddles or solvents.
Operate small cranes and or forklifts to transport or position large parts.
Train and assist Level I assemblers.
Contribute to team efforts.
Testing of equipment after assembly.
QC
Some minor welding, soldering
Perform other duties that may be assigned.
Familiar with small gas and diesel engines.
Able to read diagrams
Understands hydraulics
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma; and at least one (1) year of mechanical or fabrication experience in a manufacturing/ assembly environment
Basic math skills; Must be able to read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
Able to operate hand held tools, forklifts, and small cranes
Must possess sound problem-solving skills.
Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
Must be able to work well with minimal supervision.
