What You'll Do:
The Marketing Manager supports Lubrizol’s business by developing and executing marketing communication plans that support strategic business initiatives. This role acts as the central point of contact for marketing and communications initiatives and manages projects from concept to completion. As such, they must be able to conceptualize, drive, and articulate creative and strategic recommendations in a highly consultative manner while ensuring execution across a wide range of media channels. They will also develop and execute the business’s digital media strategies which is key to supporting business growth. They must be able to work both regionally and globally as their internal clients are located throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia. This position reports to the Sr. Director Global Marketing and will work closely the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Segment Managers.
What We're Looking For:
- Partners with Business Leaders and Strategic Marketing/Business Development team to develop marketing and communications strategy; writing and presenting clear, effective, logically structured plans (including annual activities calendar) that support business goals on a regional and global level
- Develops and executes the business’s digital media strategy while monitoring to keep pace with developing trends and supporting regional/global digital marketing efforts with a center-of-excellence led approach
- Coordinates global marketing activities for the Pharma and Nutra business. Ensures teams are not duplicating efforts, propagates best practices, and reports back to business partners on team’s impact
- Provides content marketing direction and support to communicate our brand promise, industry thought leadership, and advocacy positions via a variety of digital channels
- Manages the Lubrizol Pharma/Nutra brand portfolio and acts as the team ambassador of the One Lubrizol brand platform
- Creates and maintains best-in-class internal and external experiences via websites and other interactive channels to maximize lead generation using search engine optimization and other tactics
- Evaluates end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points, identifying marketing optimization opportunities. Continually tests and tracks journeys and propositions to ensure they are driving the correct behavior and delivering optimal UX results. Instrument conversion points and optimize user funnels
- Ensure the timeliness and quality of all tradeshow deliverables (e.g. press releases, graphics, messages, booth design, etc.)
- Measures and reports performance of all marketing campaigns, assessing performance against goals, costs per outcome and insights that can be applied to future programming using a solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g. Google)
- Develops and manages global annual Marketing Communications budget, working with inputs from all regions reporting spending vs. budget on a quarterly basis
- Develops and sustains strong working relationships with vendor partners and Lubrizol purchasing organization while driving continuous improvement
Skills That Make a Difference:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or other related field of study from an accredited university is required, master’s degree a plus
- A minimum of 7 years of prior marketing, sales, or commercial/product management experience in a B2B environment.
- Experience building and execution marketing and communications plans that drive business objectives
- Demonstrated strategy development with global execution using business acumen and marketing CRM and SEP tools to drive results
- Proven experience working face to face with both internal and external stakeholders and building outstanding customer relationships
- An ability to develop and influence new marketing concepts and techniques
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to travel regionally and globally (15%)
- Strong understanding of digital analytics, metrics, voice of the Client research with the ability to interpret to make key decisions; advanced proficiency with web reporting and analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing best practices and trends, including SEO and web accessibility.
- Ability to take initiative and demonstrate strong work ethic, including the desire to learn the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical businesses including audiences and key messaging
- Strong writing skills across communications media
- Able to effectively manage a variety of projects and timelines simultaneously
