Job Summary
Under the direction of the Educational Services Department, the EL Administrator (K-12) will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the English Learner (EL) program stipulated in the EL Master Plan. This position will entail collaborating with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies to promote language acquisition and educational growth for English learners. The EL Administrator will facilitate processes designed to promote high achievement, language acquisition, and literacy of English learners. Overseeing the implementation and monitoring of effective, research-based programs for English Learners will be an essential function of this position. The EL Administrator will work collaboratively with district staff to address access and equity by overseeing and carrying out actions and services outlined in the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Among the EL Administrator’s responsibilities will be to plan and deliver professional development to teachers and administrators on pedagogical practices related to English Learners resulting in equitable outcomes. Must possess the ability to lead various parent committees including the District English Learner Advisory Council (DELAC).
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A. Possession of a valid California clear multiple of single subject teaching credential
B. Possession of a valid California administrative services credential
C. Master’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, preferably in administration, assessment & evaluation, or a closely related field.
D. Three or more years of successful teaching experience
E. Three or more years of successful experience in an administrative position preferred
F. Successful management experience in the area of assessment and evaluation and the development of student and program data analysis at the secondary level is desirable
