As the Supply Chain Inventory Manager reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, you will lead and develop a team of inventory specialists and oversee all aspects of inventory management. This role involves analyzing parts availability, optimizing inventory turnover, minimizing out-of-stock items, managing returns to vendors and warranty-related issues, coordinating physical inventory counts, ensuring inventory control system accuracy, and streamlining processes to align with the company’s objectives.
Job Description
Oversee inventory, receiving and logistics operations across multiple Athens locations.
Lead training and development initiatives for direct reports and stakeholders to meet company goals and objectives.
Draft policies, procedures and guidance documents.
Utilizing inventory management software as selected by the Company to maintain accurate records and streamline inventory processes.
Recommend and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels while reducing carrying costs.
Implement of first in first out (FIFO) and other inventory rotation techniques to minimize obsolescence.
Collaborate with Fleet Operations to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly.
Conduct regular analysis to identify slow-moving or excess stock.
Oversee warehousing and parts organization at all locations, and recommend and implement best practices as appropriate.
Conduct annual physical and routine inventory cycle counts.
Research inventory transactions and reconcile discrepancies.
Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance & Operations to ensure parts meet quality standards.
Maintain a strong relationship with cross functional teams and maintain partnerships with internal customers.
Review/approve requisitions for accuracy and need.
Prepare management reports on inventory performance and other inventory related matters.
Manage parts; returns, warranty recovery and core exchange tracking and reporting.
Oversee and manage part charge outs against repair orders.
Continuously propose and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field is desired but not required.
3 years of experience supervising and/or managing staff.
Proven experience in inventory management or supply chain management. Experience in a similar industry is a plus.
Strong knowledge of inventory processes, strategies, and best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with inventory management systems, software solutions, Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
Strong ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal service skills
