Responsibilities:
- Oversees maintenance of broadcast systems and live productions and advanced AV systems across the Enterprise.
- Provides engineering support to key executive events.
- Evaluates, installs, maintains and performs repairs and preventative maintenance of advanced A/V systems and television equipment, including all control rooms, studio equipment, field gear and related systems.
- Assists the manager in the design and upgrades of all major A/V and Broadcast systems across the enterprise.
- Works with manufacturers and vendors to obtain replacement parts and manage inventory.
- Supervises freelance personnel during studio and remote television productions, offering training and assistance with equipment and systems.
- Creates and maintains appropriate databases and documentation of equipment and systems.
- Designs and repairs advanced analog and digital broadcast systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, technology, video design or related field with TV Broadcast background.
Certifications:
- Automation programing certification, level 2 programming preferred.
- Technical Certifications (e.g., Federal Communications Corporation, Society of Broadcast Engineers or Certified Technology Specialist - I [CTS-I]) preferred.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License required.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a professional television broadcast environment installing/operating/repairing television equipment.
- Offset: High School Diploma, Technical Certifications (i.e. FCC, SBE, CTS-I) and 15 years of professional television broadcast experience.
- Ability to design and repair advanced analog and digital broadcast systems.
- Strong background with test and measurement equipment, waveform monitors, vector scopes, digital RF meters and projection calibration.
- Background in fiber transmission and distribution equipment repair and maintenance.
- Repair and calibration of broadcast studio cameras, master control switchers, play out servers, routing switchers, and edit systems.
- Repair and design of audio routing switchers, production consoles, and wireless microphones.
- Strong analytical/communicative skills essential. Strong technical skills and an understanding of current television production equipment including Crestron and Biamp programming.
- Advanced experience with computers, interactive equipment, computer driven digital and analog production equipment.
- Ability to read schematics, and repair manuals.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires manual dexterity and strength sufficient to operate, repair and transport audiovisual equipment including ability to perform work while frequently bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, walking, sitting and standing. Requires and occasionally kneeling and squatting. Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.
- Visual and aural acuity,
- Heavy work: carrying and lifting up to 75 lbs. occasionally and a push/pull force up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium work.
