Job Abstract

Under general supervision, conducts community air quality outreach and health education activities. Coordinates with non-governmental agencies, governmental agencies, and neighborhood development corporations to identify needs for air quality services and promotes available services to neighborhoods. Conducts community outreach and air quality education activities. Plans and conducts meetings, conferences, workshops, and other special events and speaking engagements as needed. Engages directly with citizens, their representatives, and other stakeholders and groups to effectively convey information about air quality and health education activities and available services. Develops educational and promotional content for social media and print resources. Performs other job-related duties as required.

A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year accredited college or university in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Environmental Engineering, or other closely related field is required. Two years of documented professional experience coordinating the efforts of governmental and non-governmental agencies engaged in environmental policy is required. Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.

This position is a critical team member of the CLEANinCLE initiative, which is working to expand Cleveland's air monitoring network. Examples of duties related to CLEANinCLE include planning public meetings, coordinating the resident advisory committee, and marketing. Evenings and weekends will be required.
