Los Angeles Harbor College (LAHC) is seeking a LACCD faculty member highly qualified individual to serve as the Title V: CASA Instructor Special Assignment (ISA) to coordinate and provide leadership for the successful implementation of the project. Interested individuals with the required training and experience are invited to submit a letter of interest and resume. The Dean of Student Services supervises this position. This is a limited, SFP (specially funded program) position and is a 1.00 assignment. The grant is expected to last till September 30, 2026.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications for employment as a faculty member in any discipline or faculty service area at a Los Angeles Community College. Degree(s) must be awarded by an accredited college or university.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Eligibility

Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees’ policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations and implementation of strategic planning and leadership initiatives to support and develop the Harbor Advantage & Harbor Success Program funded by Title V: CASA grant.
• Oversee implementation of the Evaluation Plan for the overall project by working with internal evaluation and monitoring every component of the Project evaluation process.
• Monitor and ensure apprenticeship program and site compliance with state and federal regulations, college policies, apprenticeship requirements, and specific industry licensure and certificate requirements.
• Monitor best practices in project activity areas to ensure maximum benefit from using federal funds.
• Work with the Dean of Student Services to provide leadership that drives the program to achieve grant deliverables
• Analyze various data sets to develop academic programs and course scheduling with the goal of supporting the technology, innovation, and apprenticeship programs and work with the Dean of Curriculum to ensure course development approval through the curriculum process and implementation.
• Plan, coordinate, and arrange for appropriate training for assigned faculty and staff; develop and initiate project activities, orientations, and in-services to review academic policies and procedures of the program, the College, and changes on in the federal Title V Grant guidelines.
• Develop and implement professional development plans for faculty instructors. Collaborate with the Academic Senate and the Professional Development faculty coordinator.
• Participate on committees focused on enrollment – Guided Pathways, CPC, Academic Senate, Enrollment Management, Shared Governance, etc.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of Program Coordinator experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year of ensuring compliance with federal and institutional regulations and guidelines.
• Minimum of one (1) year of preparing all required reports, including annual performance reports for the Dept. of Education and/or federal grant agencies.

Knowledge of and proficiency with:

• Understanding diverse cultures and demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity.
• Educational practices and pedagogy related to the education of diversity of student preparation and college readiness.
• Instructional and student support approaches designed to meet the needs of a culturally and linguistically diverse student population.
• College enrollment procedures and matriculation services pertinent to the enrollment of students.
• Applicable state and federal laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures.

Skills and Abilities:

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

This is a 12-month, D-basis, 1.0 FTE limited, faculty ISA position. This position is renewable annually based on the evaluation of outcomes and performance and availability of funds. The salary range is $87,588 to $ 162,744 is commensurate with academic preparation and experience for new employees. The doctoral differential is $5.532 per academic year. District benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance
