The Senior Data Training Specialist will be a critical addition to our team, focusing on enhancing our organization’s data management practices and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role is perfect for someone passionate about using data to drive decision-making and improve program outcomes in a nonprofit setting. A successful candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive training materials in compliance with contractual requirements for data entry across all of SJC’s contracts, and for ensuring that all staff are equipped to meet our data standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation and Handbooks: Develop and maintain detailed handbooks and documentation outlining data entry, management, and analysis procedures across the organization.
Training Curriculum Development: Design and implement a curriculum to train frontline staff and management on data policies, procedures, and best practices.
Regular Training Sessions: Conduct regular training workshops for management and frontline leadership to ensure consistency in data handling and understanding across all levels of the organization.
Performance Indicator Management: Build and maintain lists of key performance indicators for each program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and contractual obligations.
Material Development: Create informative materials to help staff understand and effectively refer clients to the organization’s various programs.
Support Compliance Monitoring: Support Contracts and Compliance department with data management policies and procedures by consolidating contractual data requirements into materials that can be referenced by staff working under those contracts, and by providing support and guidance to staff on how to best implement data protocols.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data management or a related field, preferably within a nonprofit environment.
Strong understanding of homelessness services in Los Angeles County, familiarity with LAHSA, DHS, and DMH contracts preferred.
Ability to create and maintain dashboards using Tableau
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices.
Experience in developing training materials and conducting educational workshops.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Additional Information
Status: Full time/Exempt
Pay Range: $68,000 to $70,000/yr
