This position is responsible for providing acute nursing patient care in a safe, appropriate and effective manner under the direction of a Registered Nurse, in compliance with the LVN Practice Act. Additional responsibilities include collecting patient information, timely and complete documentation of patient care and implementation of assigned tasks, medical orders and plan of care. Integrates patient care standards into all patient care activities.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of SGVMC and AHMC Inc. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of SGVMC and AHMC Inc. The employee shall support SGVMC’s strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to; Customer Service, Patient’s Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and AHMC Inc. initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

9. Demonstrates competence in the performance of duties/responsibilities related to patient care.
10. Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently use equipment, supplies and perform therapeutic/ diagnostic interventions.

Education/Training/Experience

Graduate of an LVN School of Nursing.

One year acute care experience as an LVN in Medical Surgical Services or any other specialty required. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for an employee with strong education and associated experiential background and/or work history.

Basic Arrhythmia (must be completed within 90 days upon hire)

Current CA LVN license (should be IV certified)

BLS, ACLS, PALS

NIHSS

MAB (Must be AB 508)
