PDS Tech is looking for an engineer with a structural analysis background to assist in generating the structural engineering analysis package to demonstrate compliance of tooling fixtures such as assembly & lifting jigs in an aerospace fabrication environment.
Responsibilities
Analyze, research and provide input on product design, or operation of product involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials.
Structural analysis methods (FEMAP/NATSRAN) of metallic and composite structures.
Work with internal/external customers and colleagues to ensure that the design meets customer needs.
Assist in the design of industrial tools, composite dies, drill fixtures, machine attachments and equipment, required for production or experimental use.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s (STEM) Degree with 5 years of experience OR Master’s (STEM) Degree with 3 years of experience in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations.
Professional Engineering License (preferably from California – consideration will be given if candidate is within 1 year of completing certification)
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with industry standard aerospace to conceptualizing designs using 3D modeling tools including NX & CATIA
Creating drawings for fabrication via CAD, with properly laid out views and dimensions that are in compliance with ASME Y14.1-5 standards.
Direct Aerospace Tooling experience
Experience with fabrication applying such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.
Direct experience with Tooling mechanics and analysis relative to stress
Current/active DOD Secret clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 5 years
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Pay Details: $52.99 per hour
