Position Summary:
The incumbent directly supervises laboratory technical and administrative functions for a distinct operational unit consisting of technologists who perform a wide variety of laboratory duties including but not limited to pre analytical processes and testing through data analysis and reporting; or technicians, assistants, phlebotomist and other staff who provide a wide range of laboratory support services; or a combination of both. Performs bench testing as needed.

Salary Range:
Annual Rate Minimum $95,300.00 Midpoint $140,400.00 Maximum $185,500.00
Required Qualifications:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Must be willing to testify in court regarding testing activities if subpoenaed
Must be willing to work variable shifts and overtime as required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Current CA CLS License
Minimum of five (5) years of pertinent cytogenetics (karyotype and FISH) laboratory experience.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a CLS II/ Lead Technologist / Supervisor in a clinical cytogenetics laboratory.
At least 10 years of laboratory experience in both karyotype and FISH study of cancer samples.
Skills to work collaboratively, coordinate and integrate with others in other laboratories, departments, and throughout the organization. Successful background working with all groups: peers, scientists, multidisciplinary team members, executives, assigned staff.
Proven analytical abilities and problem solving skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify options for resolution. Demonstrates sound judgement.
Knowledge of laboratory application information system. Ability to analyze data using queries and visual review.
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Licenses and Certifications:
Clinical Laboratory Scientist(Required)
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in supervision
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
