Job Summary
The Position:
Under the direction of the Project Director II, Mental Health and School Counseling, the Project Director II shall provide administrative leadership and oversight to LACOE staff supporting successful implementation of multiple aligned initiatives under the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS)’ Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI), including the Student Behavioral Health Incentive Program (SBHIP) project plan implementation and related efforts. This position will lead and facilitate planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring of capacity building efforts with Local Education Agencies (LEAs) throughout Los Angeles County to increase access to wellbeing and mental health services, including multi-tiered school mental health programming through enhanced training, workforce development and participation in the CYBHI school-linked fee schedule.
Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Experience:
Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related and progressive experience, including a minimum of two years of administrative and/or leadership experience pertaining to school mental health and intern program implementation.
Education (required):
A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution of higher learning.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATE:
Possess and maintain each of the below (required):
• California Administrative Services Credential
• Pupil Personnel Services Credential in:
• Child Welfare and Attendance, and,
• School Social Work or School Counseling
• License issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences in the area of Social Work.
Eligible to provide clinical supervision to Associate Clinical Social Workers and/or other mental health professionals registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). These requirements include:
• Have been licensed in California or any other state for at least two (2) years out of the last five (5) years prior to the commencement of supervision.
• Have practiced psychotherapy during at least two (2) years out of the last five (5) years prior to the commencement of supervision OR has provided direct supervision to ASWs, Associate Professional Clinical Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapist Trainees, or Associate Marriage and Family Therapists who perform psychotherapy during at least two (2) years out of the last five (5) years prior to the commencement of supervision.
