ABOUT THE ROLE Provides on-site supervision of mechanical General Foremen, Foremen, and all craft personnel (for example, ironworkers, equipment operators, laborers, electricians, etc.) and their activities to ensure a safe, productive, and quality job while controlling construction costs. Effectively schedule labor, materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractors (within their scope of work) to meet budget and schedule requirements. Essential Functions Supervises, mentors, and sets direction for onsite mechanical General Foremen, Foremen, and Field Engineers under his purview. Supervises mechanical General Foreman and Foreman to ensure the following tasks are completed safely and efficiently, the first time: Coordinates staging of all mechanical material with on-site Logistics Manager. Spreading of all mechanical material in the appropriate work area, after it has been staged. On-site prefabrication/kitting of racking material. Installation of piles, torque tubes, racking, and all associated mechanical/structural parts and pieces of a complete solar racking system. Monitors all equipment utilization and ensures the equipment is inspected daily, serviced at required intervals, and is operated safely. Initial QA/QC check to ensure all phases of the racking system and support structure are being installed per contract and manufactures plans and specifications. Ensures best use of all company resources and adherence to company policies, and state and f ederal regulations. Utilizes Look Ahead Schedules and Manpower Worksheets to plan crew sizes, manage material needs, and regulate overtime to meet project schedule and budget. Uses Work Instruction Guidelines to develop Standard Work Instructions to ensure work is installed safely and correctly the first time. Responsible for utilization of best safety practices and the management of employee training with an emphasis on special risks related to cranes, lifting, DOT requirements, site conditions, telehandlers, AHA’s, electrical safety hazards, etc. Required to attend daily Plan of the Day (POD) meetings and all other meetings pertaining to their scope of work. Display a professional demeanor and act professionally while interacting with internal and external individuals. Create a collaborative environment with craft, subcontractors, vendors, and the client to continually improve the company’s delivery and performance. Compares actual costs to the job budget and informs the Construction Manager of any cost over-runs. Understands the contract scope of work and identifies potential change orders. Ensures requisitioning of materials from procurement in advance to account for material delivery lead times to support construction activities. Tracks and monitors materials on site to ensure material inventory supports project build schedule. Ensure all Foremen complete daily AHA’s correctly. Coordinate scope of work with other superintendents’ scope of work. Performs Quality audits as necessary. ABOUT YOU Qualifications 5+ years of solar mechanical/structuralexperience. 5+ years ofexperience in Solar and Renewable Energy. 10+ years of experience in Construction. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Strong organizational,and communication skills. High attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment required. Proactive attitude and initiative. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to take ownership and accountability. Excellent reasoning and decision-making skills. Positive, proactive attitude. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) is a plus. Physical Demands Frequently works outdoors on uneven surfaces. May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time. May be required to stoop, bend, and crouch. Work Environment May be required to work in the Santa Fe Springs office at certain times for pre-construction, supervisory, and budget meetings. Works in the field 100% of the time. May work in varying weather conditions: hot, cold, and wet conditions. May occasionally work in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels and hazardous chemicals. WHAT WE OFFER Compensation & Benefits Salary $114,000-$139,000/ year Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. CSI reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the selected candidate's qualifications.
