The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles ("HACLA") places great value on early-career talent and is currently accepting applications from law students for a paid internship starting FALL 2024. NATURE OF WORK
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS: Under direct supervision of a departmental supervisor or attorney, conducts legal research, edits legal documents, and prepares motions and briefs. Summarizes records, depositions, background information, and other legal documents regarding contacts with clients for use by attorneys. May assist attorney for trial preparation. Performs related professional and administrative duties. This classification is intended to provide the incumbent with broad exposure to the Legal Department and to the practice of law; specific duties will vary according to the business needs of the department. The employee receives assignments from the supervisor, who defines objectives, priorities, and deadlines, and assists the employee with unusual situations that do not have clear precedents.
