Job Abstract

DIRECTV is seeking a Senior Manager of Finance Planning and Analysis to collaborate amongst business units and specifically administer their business plans. This can include Capital Budgets, Headcount, and Expense Budgets. This leader works on special projects for individual business units and DIRECTV as a whole. In this role, you will perform variance analysis in many planning cycles, generate and interpret financial reporting, and perform financial analysis to support business decisions and strategy. This includes analysis of internal business/financial performance, modeling to assess financial implications of business initiatives, and providing actionable financial/business insights.

Here's what you’ll do:

• Conduct extremely complex financial analysis, sometimes through high-visibility projects.
• Work on problems of diverse scope including the analysis of financial reports, trends, and opportunities.
• Support the Marketing team to develop revenue targets, opportunities, and insights.
• Evaluate and make recommendations relating to business opportunities, investments, financial regulations, and similar financial projects or programs.
• Gather, interpret, and evaluate financial information.
• Analyze and interpret financial and other data.
• Develop recommendations to achieve the organizations financial objectives.
• Determine financial consequences of alternative methods, plans, and strategies.
• Evaluate financial performance including cost or budget administration.
• Work on finance systems to include database creation, data aggregation, build reports in database software, build visualized dashboards, use forecasting tools, write SQL statements, and complex modeling.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced SQL preferred.
• Typically requires 8 or more years of experience in IT, finance, and or accounting.
• Deep financial planning and analysis knowledge including understanding of forecasting, accounting, key financial metrics, analyses of financial statements, budgeting, cost analysis, financial reporting, capital allocations, and financial data warehouses.
• Advanced analytics skills are preferred.
• Support complex and manual multi-system data extracts, analysis, and reconciliation utilizing advanced Excel functions (Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc.) and other financial analysis tools.
• Experience with enterprise financial management applications.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work occasional extended hours during financial close periods as business requires.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to respond to requests with accuracy and completeness in short timeframes.

This position requires, but is not limited to, 10% travel for team meetings/kick-offs.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $96,140 - $174,570

Low (N1): $96,140 - $144,210

Mid (N2): $101,200 - $151,800

High (N3): $111,320 - $166,980

Top (N4): $116,380 - $174,570
