Job Abstract

A Southern California community hospital is actively seeking a Nurse Director Medical Surgical Services to join their tenured Nursing Leadership Team.

The Nurse Director of Medical Surgical Services will report to the Chief Nursing Officer and will be supported by 2 Nurse Managers and will be responsible for a staff of 70 FTE’s.

The Nurse Director Medical Surgical Services will oversee the 28-bed mixed unit, which treats patients suffering from medical illnesses, injuries and recovering from surgical procedures. The Nurse Director Medical Surgical Services, will also be responsible for overseeing the Nurse Float pool and House Supervisors.

The Nurse Director of Medical Surgical Telemetry will also assume fiscal responsibility for the unit budgets, serve as a liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promote the maximum growth and development of each employee, support nursing research and assure patient advocacy.

The Nurse Director Medical Surgical and Telemetry will report to the Chief Nursing Officer and will be responsible for the twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of Medical Surgical department in order to provide quality individualized patient care, to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric on the age continuum.
