BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Under the supervision of the Principal or administration, the VN Nursing instructor delivers class (theory) and or Clinical instruction to VN students according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods. The instructor will provide instruction that meets State regulations and compliance standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Credentials Education: BSN degree in Nursing or in a related field. MSN preferred. Hold a current California active license as a Registered Nurse. Have completed a course or courses offered
by an accredited school with instruction in administration, teaching, curriculum, and counseling.
Employment is contingent upon approval from the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technician and also for the CNA approval from California Department of Public Health.
Experience: Three years plus of progressive experience in a health care and/or educational setting are required. Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse. Five years
shall be in teaching or supervision or a combination thereof; or a minimum of 3 years experience in nursing education or administration within the last 5 years in an accredited/approved
school of Vocation Nursing Program.
Personal Qualities: Appearance, grooming, and personality which establish a desirable example for pupils ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health. Recommendation
from student teaching supervisors or other professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic attainment, and classroom performance of the teacher.
Demonstration of health care professional’s ability to express ideas clearly, verbally and in writing. Willingness to support the Mission and Philosophy of the Lynwood Unified School
District and the Lynwood Adult School.
