Job Summary
This temporary teaching position is full-time with 10 sick days, eligible to participate in a generous health benefits package, and District contributions towards the California State Teachers Retirement System. The teachers' work calendar includes 185 work days.
The primary focus of the Intervention Teacher is to provide targeted intervention support to students who require additional assistance in building their foundational reading and math skills. Additionally, this individual will provide designated ELD instruction to identified English language learners.
The Intervention Teacher will also:
* Work closely with individual students and small groups, identifying their specific areas of difficulty and designing personalized learning plans to address their needs.
* Employ a variety of strategies such as phonics instruction, phonemic awareness instruction, sight word recognition support, and comprehension strategies to help students improve their reading fluency and comprehension.
* Use hands-on activities, visual aids, and scaffolded instruction to reinforce concepts.
* Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and progress monitoring.
* Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, support staff, and students about student progress.
* Use data and a variety of assessment tools to diagnose student needs and monitor progress.
* Demonstrate a clear understanding of intervention strategies and district-adopted curriculum.
* Help students reach grade level proficiency and empower them with the confidence and skills they need to succeed academically.
* Demonstrate patience, encouragement, and a focus on building a strong foundation.
Requirements / Qualifications
Applicant must hold a valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a CLAD or English Learner #1 Authorization, or a Bilingual Authorization.
