Job Abstract

High School Bookkeeper:

Bishop Conaty Our Lady of Loretto is an all-girls, archdiocesan school of 340 students located in Koreatown. The school is seeking a bookkeeper to manage the day to day financial transactions of the school.
Reporting to the principal, the bookkeeper assists in the financial stewardship of the school. They will work closely with the Archdiocese financial department

Essential Job Functions:
Accounts Payable:

• Receive, verify, and pay invoices. Maintain contact information of vendors.
• Ensure that appropriate expenditures are placed in the proper Accounts/Sub Accounts within Aplos, the Archdiocesan software program.
• Establish and maintain a procedure for weekly processing of vendor checks.
• Ensure that all transactions are properly and accurately entered into Aplos on a timely basis, including sports, fundraisers, retreats, purchases and field trips.
• Assist the Tuition Office in tracking delinquent accounts and sending late notices.

Accounts Receivable:

• Track disbursement from FACTS, CEF, donors and foundations.

HR

• Onboarding new employees’ paperwork and updating files.
• Submit payroll to ADP and advising staff on matters of enrolling in benefits plans.
• Track sick and personal days of staff for entry into ADP

Budget:

• Assist the principal with information for budgetary requirements.
• Source faculty budgets and update department chairs on expenditure
• Track and maintain monthly cashflow reports and work with archdiocesan financial services to generate monthly financial reports.
• Reconcile cash registers on a daily basis and deposit funds to the school checking account.

Requirements:

• Previous applicants need not re-apply.
• Minimum of 3 years bookkeeping/accounting experience preferably in a school setting.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to be a learner and a self starter
• Technology skills and ability to problem solve
• Fingerprint clearance and Safeguard the Children certificate (can get when hired)
• CA Driver’s License.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
