Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Associate or Mid-levelAerodynamicsStability and Control Engineer to join our SoCal Advanced Concepts organization team based in Long Beach, California.

The Advanced Concepts team develops future aircraft concepts and technologies for the commercial aviation market. As an Aerodynamic Stability and Control Engineer (S&C), you will perform analyses to support both airplanes in development and service. You will gain an airplane-level perspective of the vehicle requirements, aerodynamic performance and human factors. You will be relied upon as a flight dynamics and handling qualities expert, influencing the development of the airplane, verifying capabilities during the flight test program, and/or while supporting our airline customers who operate our airplanes. You will have opportunities to interface directly with other disciplines and the Flight Test pilot community, expanding your network and sphere of influence. You will utilize a variety of computational tools and techniques to reach solutions to complex problems with competing requirements. You will develop and use high fidelity steady-state and dynamic simulation models to analyze extreme flight conditions. You’ll be an integral part of ensuring the safety, performance and efficiency of current and future Boeing Commercial Airplane products.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate (Level 2) and Mid-Level (Level 3) Aerodynamics Stability and Control Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supports simulation development and engineering analysis of out-of-production commercial airplanes.
• Supports Boeing Global Services support with aircraft modifications and envelope expansions.
• Develops certification substantiation for stability and control change efforts.
• Conducts continued operational safety investigations and makes product change recommendations.
• Occasionally supports Boeing Commercial Airplanes Advanced Concepts with conceptual design stability and control analysis.
• Assists with the design and analysis of aerodynamic flight vehicles to ensure that requirements are met.
• Occasional support testing of aerodynamics characteristics of flight vehicles.
• Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, date science, or computer science.
• 1 or more years of engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typical Education & Experience:

Associate: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range Associate: $81,600 - $110,400

Summary pay range Mid-Level: $100,300 - $135,700
