The Sr. Manager, IT Project Management, will take a leadership role supporting portfolios, programs, and projects. This successful individual will work effectively across the organization to ensure strategic projects are delivered within the applicable parameters of schedule, scope, budget, and quality. The ability to work collaboratively across the organization, engage stakeholders, and deliver on commitments is paramount. Governance of process, obtaining buy-in, and leveraging resources to complete required work are critical components of the position. The ultimate focus of the position is improving Information Service's ability to make and meet its commitments and maximize the utilization of its labor resources through the application of Program, Project, and Resource Management principles.
Our Senior Manager will be responsible for ensuring a project management approach aligns with the IT strategy. The role is expected to provide strong leadership to promote best practices in managing IT projects to ensure successful delivery. Strong project management and excellent organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organization. The candidate will support project management disciplines in a highly fast-paced environment to support the development of a world-class IT organization. The position also requires managing, developing, and mentoring other project managers in the Project Management Office, ensuring they follow the processes and procedures.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Establishing the PMO organization as a center of excellence.
• Manage, develop and mentor project managers in the IT PMO
• Initiate, plan and manage projects with cross-functional teams, business units, and external staff resources.
• Manage project objectives, scopes, milestones through a structured approval and change management process.
• Define the project management processes, accountability, and expectations required from all project participants.
• Track the project life cycle, including success factors, acceptance, and sign-off from stakeholders.
• Ensure project plans are created and maintained, deliverables tracked against time/cost, and resource workload capacity metrics reported.
• Influence teams to embrace the project management workflow as a positive opportunity for building a high-impact performance organization.
• Adapt to and effectively respond to shifts in project scopes, new and changing project requirements, and unexpected events.
• Maintain a project dashboard to provide insight into projects' status, approved decisions, and actions in progress.
• Leverage the PPM Pro project management software tool to facilitate the reporting of project milestones, risks/constraints, and resource workload capacity.
• Maintain project governance controls, transparency, and traceability for all executives, stakeholders, and team members.
• Participate in the development, refinement, and integration of project management methodology processes to streamline project delivery
• Leading and running critical meetings support the IT Portfolio such as CAB, New Request, etc..
• Be a Proactive PM, by ensuring all assigned task owners deliver to the expected plan. Provide support and take on action as needed. Be creative in optimizing outcome and develop efficient flows to the users.
