Position Description:
Specialty Metals Processing, part of the Ryerson family of companies, has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician III. As a Maintenance Technician II you are responsible for providing day-to-day support of operations through troubleshooting, problem analysis, and review of equipment failures.

This position is available on the 2nd shift. The hours for this position are Monday – Friday from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
Roles and Responsibilities: • Use knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics to diagnose and repair equipment •Mechanical and electrical machine diagnostics •Coordinate major PMs on overhead cranes and powered industrial trucks •Welding and fabrication abilities to repair or build parts and equipment • In-depth knowledge to adhere to and hold self and others accountable to lockout tagout procedures, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, confined space procedures and all other Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements •Identify, gain approval, and implement projects to improve equipment uptime •Use knowledge up to 600 VAC to diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment •All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
Position Requirements:
• Associates degree or Ryerson equivalent experience of a technical nature (mechanical, electrical, computer or maintenance), OR (b) Certified mechanic (overhead cranes, fork trucks, diesel engines, tractor trailer), OR (c) Possesses documented PLC and HMI knowledge •2+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment required •Ability to read feeler gauges, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges and understand what to do with the information produced. #iND123
