Under the guidance and supervision of the AVP of Strategic Marketing and Communications, the
Creative Services Development Specialist is responsible for the creation and production of video, digital photography, and multimedia content that share powerful stories and shape the narrative of the University of La Verne. Working within the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications, this position develops original and innovative videos, images, and other visual storytelling assets to support the recruitment, retention, and reputation of the university; consistently delivering high-quality assets that adhere to the university brand standards.
These visual assets will be used in recruitment marketing and brand awareness campaigns across a
variety of channels, including website imagery and videos, display ads, social media posts and ads, email marketing, YouTube, event screens, printed materials, press releases, and more. The Creative Services Development Specialist’s work will target a variety of audiences, including prospective students, current students, internal audiences, alumni, donors and supporters, and the general public. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both photography and video production, skilled in editing and post-production technologies and techniques, fastidious with file organization and equipment maintenance, and a collaborative team player. This position may need to work occasional evenings or weekends.

Photography: Capture still photography per assignment. Photography
assignments could include portraits, environmental portraits, candid or photojournalism
style, sports, stock, event photography, studio or staged photography.
Ad hoc photography documenting key events, staff portraits, and moments in
campus life, including academic, athletic, social, and extracurricular life on the La
Verne campus, at our regional campuses, or even off-campus.

Video Production: Plan and produce video projects per assignment. This includes:

distribution methods; developing a creative concept or brief with project scope. Production schedule, and timeline to ensure project matches OSMC strategy and

is completed on time; assisting with development of scripts, talking points, or
messaging points as needed; identifying production needs (equipment, crew,
filming locations, number of shots, additional visual assets, etc.) for each project.

Ad hoc video filming to develop a solid library of b-roll footage of everyday
student life, classroom environments, student events, special campus events,
university traditions, and more each semester.
Ensure video production supports the initiatives of the division and is aligned
with the university’s 2025 strategic vision and individual college objectives.

Work with Marketing team to ensure website digital assets are up to date and
maintained regularly for relevancy. Collaborate on digital marketing ads to
guarantee photos/videos are reflective of a cohesive visual identity that
accurately reflect programs to prospective students.
Partner with Communications team to produce videos for social media with
particular emphasis on video content for Instagram and YouTube.

Asset Management:

Equipment Maintenance: Maintain photography and videography equipment
and resources including but not limited to: digital SLR cameras, lenses, mobilelighting equipment, and audio equipment. Make suggestions for potential
upgrades or additional equipment.

Be a culturally competent employee who attends/completes mandatory diversity
and inclusivity trainings as provided by the university.
