Summary
NFL Media is looking for a highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented Digital Content Producer to work with NFL.com writers and NFL Network reporters in the field on breaking news and manage the Around The NFL Twitter feed. The right candidate is team oriented, creative, collaborative and well versed in all news related to the NFL. Working on deadline and under pressure is a must. The NFL Media newsroom is a 24/7 operation, and this position requires weekend work, overnight shifts and potentially after-hours assignments.
Essential Functions
Edit and package content of all types (text, video, photo, etc.) in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, mindful of NFL.com editorial and stylistic standards and keeping with SEO best practices.
Ensure all content is grammatically correct, factually accurate and consistent with NFL.com's editorial policies.
Respond to breaking news situations consistent with NFL.com’s editorial policies.
Monitor press conferences/interviews and discern what are the notable quotes, pieces of information to come out of those settings and how they could become pieces of content on NFL.com.
Monitor the latest news, trends and conversations being discussed on social platforms.
Demonstrate news judgment when editing NFL.com articles.
Craft headlines, social media posts and live coverage that fans want to share and engage with.
Required Education and Experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be adaptable and able to work quickly under short deadlines
Strong organizational skills
Well-versed in AP Style
Strong knowledge and understanding of NFL landscape, personalities, news
Must be adaptable and able to work quickly under short deadlines
1-2 years editorial experience, preferably in online medium and in the sports industry
Must be able to handle concept changes and accept creative feedback
Preferred Education and Experience
BA in journalism or communication preferred
Salary / Pay Range
