Required
Master's degree.
Six (6) years of progressively more responsible experience related to special education, some of which shall have been in an administrative role.
Postgraduate educational license with endorsement(s) designated as appropriate to the assignment.
Knowledge of disabling conditions, evaluation instruments, and service options appropriate for special education students.
Knowledge of appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities.
Knowledge of federal, state, and county regulations and procedures pertaining to special education and Section 504.
Knowledge of early childhood development, adult learning theory, parent education, family dynamics, strategies for involving families in the education of their children, and issues related to working with clients and staff from diverse cultures and socioeconomic levels.
Ability to develop cooperative working relationships among school personnel to resolve conflicts and to communicate effectively with parents.
Ability to manage, coordinate, and develop section programs.
Ability to supervise, evaluate, and manage personnel.
Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
Seven (7) or more years of special education related experience.
Endorsement in administration and supervision PreK-12.
