Position Summary:
The Statistics Department in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences is a diverse and thriving community made up of 16 full-time faculty, over 100 graduate students, 5 lecturers, and 3 staff. In addition to a PhD program, the department also houses 1 professional master’s programs. The Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences aims for excellence in research and education. Under the supervision of the Department Manager of Statistics, incumbent will support the Department of Statistics in coordinating, managing, and providing analytical and administrative support for all facets of Academic Personnel (Senate, Non-Senate, Academic Student Employee, Visitor Scholar, and Postdoc), including: merits, promotions, recruitment, appointments, voting, leaves of absence, sabbaticals, and international relations. Applies professional UC Academic HR concepts, organization and / or system wide policies, and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of academic human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $29.26 - $34.77 (Hourly Rate). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $29.26 - $51.29 (Hourly Rate).

Required:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Basic knowledge of and ability to apply / interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR.
- Knowledge of organization, college and departmental formal and informal policies and procedures and understanding of variances to stated policies.
- Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations to Chairs / unit management.
- Demonstrated organization, problem solving, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of human resources management systems and other related business software programs and systems. Knowledge of unit academic culture and educational goals of discipline(s) served.
