SEASONAL CELDT/ELPAC ASSESSOR - UNCLASSIFIED
Limited Term Assignment
DEFINITION:
Under direction of the Categorical Programs Office and the Bilingual Resource Teacher, a pool of part-time assessors is needed to administer CELDT/ELPAC Testing during the testing window of February through May only in order to test English Learners in Grades K-12.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS: The assigned duties require a pool of non-permanent employees to administer the Mandated CELDT/ELPAC Test to all English Learners grades K-12, as well as related clerical duties. This class is distinguished by the assignment of duties requiring a knowledge of CELDT/ELPAC administration provided by the District. Duties are assigned with general instructions and work is varied in nature, requiring the employee to coordinate assignments with other district personnel. This classification, which is part-time in nature, will not include benefits.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Complete entire CELDT/ELPAC administration
- Parental communication for scheduling as needed
- Complete all required paperwork including EL folder
- Provide assessment support to school sites in CELDT/ELPAC administration in February - May
- Package tests for shipping
- Retrieve necessary data for completion of assessment
- Other related duties as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge: CELDT/ELPAC test examiners must be proficient speakers of English who can correctly pronounce the full range of American English phonemes, with a complete command of intonation and fluency, and without a strong accent. It is recommended that CELDT/ELPAC examiners have experience working with English learners at the appropriate age and are familiar with the developmental characteristics of children’s language.
Ability to:
Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently; successfully complete training in CELDT/ELPAC administration and follow-up procedures; understand and follow oral and written directions; work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work; respect the confidential nature of material involved in position; be supportive of school district goals and programs; keyboarding and data processing skills; possession of a valid California driver’s license.
Experience: Working with children.
Education:
Graduation from high school or successful completion of G.E.D. test.
RANGE: $16.83/hr.
