Position Summary:?
The Payroll Specialist supports the companys payroll processes. This position ensures pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Manage the payroll processing of multiple weekly and bi-weekly payrolls groups inclusive of CollectiveBargaining Agreements Contracts
Ensure the payroll is in fullcompliance with federal and state laws
Ensure employee payroll is processedaccurately and timely
Review weekly payroll reports foraccuracy
Collaborate with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), as necessary to ensure complete compliance in setting up payroll in various systems
Maintain payroll system updates andensure accuracy
Analyze payroll issues and recommend corrective actions
Assist in payroll accounting,transactions, reporting, stop payments and other operations
Oversee salary changes, compensations, deductions, bonus, and vacation/Paid Time Off (PTO) payouts
Process final checks forvoluntary and involuntary separations from the company
Provide training and mentoring to team member
Facilitate training at local level as needed
Assist in payroll and timesheet audit process
Assist employees with payroll issues
Review payroll issues and discrepancies and process necessary corrections
Ensure compliance with the regulatory standards, policies and procedures ofpayroll
Provide technical expertise and respond to payroll inquiries related to interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations as well as Collective Bargaining Agreement Contracts
Implement processes to streamlinepayroll function
Other projects or duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
HS Diploma/GED with 0 to 1 plus years of payroll experience
Experience with federal, local, and state payroll laws
Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Detail oriented mindset
Strong organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Ability to maintain highly confidential information
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
This position must pass a post-offerbackground and drug test
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance and/or Accounting
Experience with UKG or Kronos Timekeeping System
Experience working in a union environment
