Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Senior Aircraft Environmental Control Systems (ECS) Analysis Engineer to join their team in Long Beach, CA.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to and make an immediate impact on our rapidly growing airplane development, modifications, customer service, and operational safety programs. As an Aircraft ECS Analysis Engineer, you will work with the ECS group on components that directly impact the safety of airline passengers. You will play a vital role in supporting the modification of all in-service Boeing Commercial Airplane models to meet the requirements of our customers. Position Responsibilities
Independently supports development and documentation of Environmental Control System analysis and architecture (air conditioning, air distribution, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, cargo fire protection, nitrogen generating system, ice/rain protection, etc.)
Assesses complex system events to determine potential safety issues, utilizing airplane function integration at the system and component level
Contributes to development of hardware, software, and system performance requirements, as well as supplier qualification of these components and systems
Assists in component and system laboratory/airplane testing to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Works directly with airline customers and airplane component suppliers to ensure effective system integration and customer satisfaction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Long Beach, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
7+ years of experience working with or on an engineering team
2+ years of experience with engineering disciplines related to aircraft Environmental Control Systems analysis, including compressible/incompressible fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, physical chemistry, systems engineering, and/or computational fluid dynamics
Experience working in a multi-disciplined Systems Engineering environment
Willing and able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master’s Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
1+ years of experience being a team leader
Direct experience with aircraft Environmental Control Systems analysis (air conditioning, air distribution, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, cargo fire protection, nitrogen generating system, ice/rain protection, thermal analysis, computational fluid dynamics, etc.)
Knowledge of Boeing design, certification, and engineering principles
Experience with Boeing airplane modification programs
Experience with Boeing production development programs
Ability to work with multiple team functions
Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience
Desire to continuously improve our airplanes
Typical Education/ Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
