BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Provides an educational program for students in a Dual Language Immersion Program consistent with the District’s philosophy and goals. Develops and maintains an educational environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of resources provided by the District. Implements a DLIP designed to provide opportunities for elementary English and Spanish speaking students to gain comprehensive bi-literacy (listening, speaking, reading and writing), cultural and global competence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Must possess BCLAD Certification
• Must be biliterate in Spanish
• Two years previous successful teaching experience preferred
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience teaching or working in a bilingual or dual immersion program is preferred
• Strong knowledge of curriculum standards, instructional strategies and assessment practices
• Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and perspectives
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
