Cyber Policy Writer
Key Role:
Serve as a Cyber Policy Writer in maintaining repertoire of Cybersecurity and Privacy policies. Assist with the lifecycle of Cybersecurity and Privacy policies, including assisting with developing and editing policies that are well-written, effective, and both internally consistent and consistent with Federal policies, laws, and regulations. Ensure Cybersecurity and Privacy policies incorporate the NIST Risk Management Framework and best practices for risk management and mitigation. Analyze how Cybersecurity and Privacy policies map to Federal policies, laws, and regulations, and provide recommendations on remediating gaps. Identify opportunities and propose ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Cybersecurity and Privacy policies, such as through consolidation, restructure, or reorganization. Assist in the creation of studies, reports, and other deliverables regarding Cybersecurity and Privacy policy in response to inquiries from Congress, the Office of Management and Budget, or other external parties.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience using Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
2+ years of experience with cybersecurity or policy support
Experience with translating technical concepts into policy statements
Experience working with technical subject matter experts
Knowledge of existing federal cybersecurity policies and guidance, including the NIST 800 series
Ability to analyze a large body of documentation and understand relationship to new policy requirements
Ability to assist with writing final-version policy documents in a consistent style and format
Ability to manage document lifecycles from initial draft to final publication
Ability to conduct analysis of existing guidance and directive documentation to identify overlaps, gaps, and seams between policies and guidance and provide recommendations for revisions, updates, resolution, or rescission
HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
Experience using GitHub
Ability to pay strict attention to detail
Possession of excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Bachelor’s degree
Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or Information Security certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
