Leads a national team of SEG Wealth Advisors and Relationship Managers focused on serving the investment and banking needs for corporate and private clients in the sports and entertainment industry. Ensures the attainment of revenue and
profit goals through the development and execution of a strategic business plan while ensuring risk management objectives are met.
SEG provides traditional wealth and commercial banking solutions along with expert, unique advice to address the complete financial needs of leagues, athletes, entertainers, teams, coaches, executives, and the business entities through which they work, including Stadium and Arena financing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Develop and execute national business plans for SEG, including establishing short term (1 year) and long term (3 year) strategies to meet and exceed Truist financial goals and grow each business in existing and new markets. Including (not limited to):
a. Pipeline management with gap-to-plan-analysis.
b. Sales and Operations Management: Leading and driving activity and accountability across LSG and ensure LSG leaders and advisors are equipped and informed to lead their teams effectively.
c. Identify and implement product and solution enhancements to grow the LSG business and Truist Wealth.
d. Develop trusted relationships with key clients and COI partners.
e. Be in the market with teams, joint calling to continuously coach and develop talent.
f. Be a knowledge-based resource both internally for the bank and externally for the clients within the SEG vertical.
2. Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining accountability for appropriate completion of deliverables.
3. Work closely with Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) Partners in Wealth and across all LOBs in Truist to ensure that the product/service offering of SEG meets the needs of clients in CIG, CCB and Wealth, including corporate, commercial and not for profit.
4. Build strong ties and relationships with heads of IRM partner channels, product team heads and other leaders in order to proactively deploy the capabilities of SEG business across Truist and support the IRM strategy.
5. Implement and execute a marketing plan with the purpose to develop and grow revenue.
6. Work closely with corporate marketing to evaluate opportunities to grow the business. Continuously develop content and website.
7. Responsible for identifying, attracting, hiring and retaining SEG talent with expertise in these verticals with a keen focus on diversity and inclusion.
8. Responsible for delivering our purpose through visibility in the community and building a strong culture within the SEG line of business in turn providing an inclusive, team-oriented culture aligned with the Truist purpose, mission, and values.
9. Responsible for all risk management and ensure all objectives with respect to credit, compliance and operational risk are met.
10. Ensure that the SEG establish and maintain appropriate legal, operating and regulatory controls to manage risk and compliance. Participate as needed with Truist regulators and individual subsidiary regulators (such as the Securities & Exchange Commission) as a senior leadership representative for Truist Wealth.
11. Lead a culture of continuous improvement and operational executional excellence.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree
2. FINRA: Series 7, 66, 24 and Insurance
3. 15 or more years in Banking or Financial Services experience with a focus on high performance leadership and strategic management in a results driven, multi-regional/national environment
4. Proven and credible experience working with complex credit formulation and decision-making process, and understanding of credit, compliance and operational risks
5. A thorough understanding of a broad range of financial planning and investment concepts and an advanced working knowledge of wealth product and solutions
6. Successful track record using interpersonal, sales, presentation and relationship management skills previously demonstrated in wealth management in the Sports and Entertainment marketplace
7. Excellent written, verbal, problem solving, and analytical skills with an ability to coach teammates to be the same caliber
8. Ability to thrive and lead a national team
9. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including well-defined financial analysis capability
10. Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining accountability for appropriate completion of deliverables
11. Effective time and personal management
12. Strong understanding of Wealth and general financial industry trends, as well as an understanding of the legal and regulatory framework in which Truist operates
Preferred Qualifications:
1. MBA, JD, CFA, and CFP
2. Minimum of 5 years in a leadership position
3. Wealth experience with clients in the Sports, Film, or Music industry
