We serve approximately 6,300 students who matriculate into the Whittier Union High School District. Job Description / Essential Elements:Print
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Effectively communicate and collaborate with staff to help solve problems with technology
Provide technical support for technology devices, printers, and audio/visual equipment
Maintain an inventory using serial numbers and location of all technology equipment assigned to users
Troubleshoot technology devices
Install and download applications and software as needed
Maintain and program the school marquee
Support online educational testing
Work closely with principal to determine their needs, set up any technology equipment needed for events and/or meetings
Assist principal and District Technology staff to support the roll out of our Bring Your Own Device program
Requisitions, stores, and distributes inventory of educational materials, supplies and equipment;
Assists students by conducting a variety of computer literacy instructional exercises and by presenting various instructional materials designed to enhance the learning process ;
Assists students/staff in their awareness of computer programming and computer operational functions;
Develops and assists in the development of specialized instructional materials;
Tutors individuals and small groups of students/staff to enhance the learning process;
Performs a variety of routine tasks as assigned by site and/or district technologydirector/coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Basic behavior management and instructional strategies and techniques;
Appropriate English usage, punctuation, spelling, and grammar;
Ability to:
Stay abreast of the latest technology
Demonstrate an empathetic, patient, and receptive attitude with students/staff;
Communicate satisfactorily in oral and written form in English;
Perform routine tasks and operate a variety of technology equipment;
Learn to utilize a variety of appropriate instructional materials and procedures in the enhancement of an educational environment;
Effectively and efficiently tutor and instruct students/staff in technology literacy;
Understand and carry out oral and written directions;

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.
Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
This type of work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve running, walking or standing for brief periods.
Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, handling and working with various materials and objects, and the manual dexterity to operate business related equipment are important aspects of this job.

• Certificate or transcripts indicating type of coursework in technology
The Technology Aide works under supervision, to perform a variety of technology device instructional activities, including digital citizenship curriculum. Assists in the implementation of a 1:1 technology device classroom environment; performs routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel; provides technical support for devices and equipment and does other related work as required.
