Prince William County Community Services is seeking a full-time Business Service Administrator to provide financial management support and make a difference in the lives of Prince William County residents that require mental health and/or substance use therapy and treatment, as well as intellectual and developmental disabilities. ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Business Services Administrator will be responsible for overall management, professional development, and performance of a team of professional financial staff, directing them in activities including policy and procedures compliance, accounts payable, procurement, financial monitoring and reconciliation, budget development, reporting, and business improvement planning and implementation. The incumbent will research, interpret, and provide technical assistance regarding financial activities according to established GAAP accounting, federal, state, and county laws, regulations, and grant guidelines and maintain supportive partnerships with senior management and program staff to ensure strategic utilization of the agency’s financial resources.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or G.E.D. and 7 years of related governmental accounting experience.
PREFERENCES
Experience with governmental accounting, reporting, processing, internal controls, recording and reconciling financial transactions, and compiling financial reports for local, state, or other specialized funding sources, such as grants, with preferred experience in supporting a Human Service Agency or Medical/Behavioral Healthcare Services.
Experience managing Social Security Representative Payee Accounts.
Experience in developing and implementing accounting, procurement, and other fiscal management policies and procedures, and provide training on these.
Experience supervising multiple positions, and ability to be organized, prioritize appropriately, assign work effectively, and meet multiple deliverables, daily.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook scheduling, Teams, and other applications.
Ability to be an independent, systems thinker that can draw correlations between financial systems and their structure and the Department’s program goals.
Aptitude for critical thinking and ability to understand the various programs, services, and funding sources and align the financial Chart of Accounts (COA), ensures accurate postings, and maintains historical financial records that will allow for consistent and accurate reporting.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must pass DMV record check.
Must pass TB test.
Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprinted-based national criminal history record check.
Child Protective Services Requirements: effective 1999, mandated by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) in accordance with 12VA35-105-400 rules and regulations for DBHDS Licensed Providers and related to the Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglect will be conducted by the Virginia Department of Social Services.
WORK SCHEDULE
Remote work is possible, however some days in the office will be required in Prince William County government offices.
The work location for this position will be at the Ferlazzo building at 15941 Donald Curtis Dr, Woodridge VA 22191.
Occasional evenings or weekend work may be needed for seasonal deliverables, such as Year End, the Annual Budget process, or for State reporting deliverables.
STARTING SALARY RANGE
$88,939.50 - $100,000.00 Annually
