Role Summary:
The role of the Solutions Engineer is to proactively support assigned End User Sales, LCA Execution and Commercial Operations teams in opportunity qualification activities and technical sales support for key aftermarket services and solutions for Pump, Valves and Mechanical Seals. The Solutions Engineer will create plans for monitoring and data acquisition, review data and provide reliability and optimization solutions to equipment and systems in effort to support aftermarket opportunities. The Solutions Engineer is a highly skilled and valuable member of the Flowserve Engineering Community and effectively engages the entire organization for the development of technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Executes complex site measurement/assessment plans for technical assessment activities including vibration, pump and system performance
- Reviews site measurement, assessment and reliability data to assess pull through opportunity
- Supports LCA Onsite Applications Engineers and Sales Engineers in technical escalation of bad actor resolution activities
- Provides root cause analysis by utilizing standard Flowserve methodologies and tools. Capable of complex RCA
- Understands Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and factors that impact LCC for customer issues. Applies understanding to drive better justification in deliverables to customer.
- Develops executable Reliability and Maintenance solutions by analyzing data and creating technical and financial justification
- Applies advanced knowledge of Flowserve products (pump, seal, seal support systems and valves) and services to deliver solutions to customers
- Contributes in warranty mitigation activities and advises/participates on warranty resolution team
- Serves as a liaison between sales and solution engineering to develop strategies to proactively identify and qualify potential aftermarket opportunities.
- Support commercial operations on technical bid content by creating monitoring plans for data acquisition so that cost estimations and PMUs are accurate
- Supports technical training and presentations internally and externally including the development of case study and best practices that can be applied broadly across the end-user support teams.
- Advanced understanding of Flowserve engineering systems/tools (AMP, Flowforce, Infoshare, Imager, etc) and proficiency in external software utilized for advanced analysis
- Develops tools, work processes, procedures and standardized best practices for use
- Champions tools (software and equipment) used for analysis by providing training and mentorship
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of industrial rotating equipment (pumps, seals, valves) function and design and associated industry specifications (API, HI, etc)
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
- Highly motivated and possesses a strong sense of urgency to manage tasks, logistics and deliver high quality results that exceed customer expectations
- Maintains positive attitude and uses experience to foster team culture built on success, teamwork and empathy.
- Possesses Interpersonal skills that create engagement and optimum communication with customers, internal peers and Flowserve management
- Proficient in all software tools with strong computer skills/experience and working knowledge of engineering and modeling programs
- Prepares concise, professional assessment reports that outline methods of analysis, findings, recommended solutions and appropriate justification.
- Experience and advanced understanding of instrumentation and data collection methods such as portable flow monitoring (ultrasonic methods), pressure sensing, temperature sensing, modeling, etc
Preferred Skills
- Certified Vibration Category 3 or 2 (ISO or ANSI accreditation)

The pay range for this role is $101,602.50 - $152,527.96 USD annual, depending upon experience.
