Administrative Intern positions are distinguished from other regular City classifications in that they are considered at-will, short-term and non-continuous. City internships augment and support, rather than replace, duties or regular employees.
The City of Lynwood is currently seeking for an individual interested in the program with experience and education in Finance Administration.
City internships offer a diverse array of short-term, non-continuous project assignments ranging from basic clerical projects, mid-level administrative tasks or more complex research assignments based upon grade level, and departmental project descriptions. The class may be utilized in various City departments.

WORK SCHEDULE
This is a non-benefited, at-will part-time position. Temporary/seasonal/part-time employment status does not qualify for City benefits, except for those required by law. Part-time shifts may not exceed 28 hours per week, 125 hours a month, and 960 hours in a fiscal year basis (July 1 through June 30). Part-time positions are "at-will". There are no rights to employment and employment may end at any time with or without cause or advance notice.
Candidates may be required to work irregular hours, various shifts, weekends, holidays and/or on-call status. Working hours to be assigned at the discretion of the Recreation and Community Services Department.
Depending on assignment, essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performs research and analysis on administrative, fiscal and operational matters as directed; prepares reports to summarize finding and makes recommendations as to appropriate action to be taken.
Compiles data and prepares reports in accordance with general guidelines.
Assists in budget preparation, analysis and administration as directed.
Performs audits and/or maintains records of account activity.
Participates in the preparation and revision of manuals and other administrative materials.
Provides administrative assistance in the implementation of new administrative procedures.
Responds to inquiries and provides technical and administrative assistance to resolve complaints, or refers to appropriate authority.
May initiate or prepare correspondence in the performance of assigned tasks.
Performs related duties as required.

Education:
Current enrollment as an upper class undergraduate or graduate program in an accredited college or university in a related field such as public or business administration, accounting, finance, urban planning, engineering or human resources.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver's license and satisfactory driving record may be required for some assignments.
