ONE Archives at USC Libraries, the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, and the USC Libraries Collections Convergence Initiative are searching for a two-year, postdoctoral fellow in the humanities, who will work intimately with the archive’s holdings in an effort to transpose that research into narratives about LGBTQ+ world-making for scholarly, public, and/or media spheres. The fellow will be expected to curate one event per year (which may be an exhibit, symposium, performance, or another interactive project), in coordination with ONE. The postdoctoral fellow will teach three courses across four semesters of residency at USC. We are especially interested in scholars who are engaged in research with queer of color, trans, non-binary, and women’s issues. ONE Archives at USC Libraries has the largest LGBTQ+ collection in the world, with over 3 million items, including: video, audio, art and historical objects, early materials from foundational LGBTQ+ organizations, and comprehensive collections from key figures in LGBTQ+ history. The archive is situated in Los Angeles near the USC campus, in a neighborhood with historical significance for the origins of both local and national LGBTQ+ movements. The fellow will receive a salary and benefits commensurate with training and experience for the two years.
