Job Abstract

Escorts patients to exam/procedure rooms, monitors patient flow, assists physicians with minor clinical procedures including but not limited to staple removal, suture removal, and wound care. Schedules diagnostic tests ordered by the physician as needed. Returns patient phone calls. Must work with any and every physician in the clinic. Escorts patients to exam/procedure rooms, monitors patient flow, assists physicians with minor clinical procedures including but not limited to staple removal, suture removal, and wound care.  Schedules diagnostic tests ordered by the physician as needed.  Returns patient phone calls.  Must work with any and every physician in the clinic.  Performs various office and clerical duties and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
1+ years experience in acute care setting or ambulatory setting preferred. Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience. Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. Spanish language skills (preferred). Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Familiarity with Cerner or a similar EMR and scheduling software is preferred.

Required License/Certification:
BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
Fire and Safety Certification required if working in a hospital licensed clinic located in LA City. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
