To develop and implement occupational therapy services and direct patient care in coordination with the interdisciplinary team and in compliance with organizational goals and appropriate regulatory agencies.
Under the supervision of the Chief of Occupational Therapy, provides occupational therapy care to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses. Major duties include consistently performing accurate patient evaluation and treatment planning for effective patient outcomes , problem resolution and patient care documentation; maintenance of an appropriate level of productivity; and participation in team building, program development, and performance improvement activities. Presenting inservices, orientation of new staff. Must demonstrate knowledge of current and evidence-based practice in the field of Occupational Therapy, effective verbal and written communication skills, and mature and sound judgment.
Minimum Education:
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
• Three years experience. Continuing education with evidence of clinical application; program development and implementation; other professional accomplishments; teaching skills of staff, peers and others demonstrated; consistently demonstrates intermediate clinical evaluation and treatment skills in applicable areas of clinical practice; successfully conducted staff educational offerings, evidence of attendance at related continuing education courses, > 24 hours within the past 3-5 years.
Required License/Certification:
• Current California license to practice occupational therapy from CBOT. BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
• Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
