The Perioperative Clinical Informaticist is responsible for communicating, collaborating, and working with leadership, staff and IT teams to design and continuously improve Cerner build and related perioperative IT endeavours. Applicant will work closely with physicians/surgeons, anaesthesia clinicians, nurses, hospital administration and IT counterparts on a day-to-day basis. The Perioperative Clinical Informaticist will report through IS clinical applications with a primary responsibility to serve as a perioperative operations/IT liaison through assessment, scoping, build, implementation, optimization upgrades, system changes and enhancements, and ongoing system maintenance, which can include system testing, troubleshooting, issue management, training, and go-lives for surgical departments across the enterprise
Essential Duties:
- Work closely with appropriate perioperative personnel to establish current and future state clinical workflows (Provider/Surgeon, Anesthesia, Nursing, Scheduling, Ancillary staff)
- Supports efforts to plan, coordinate, and implement clinical technologies and work processes within the perioperative setting that align with organizational initiatives.
- Facilitates utilization and adoption of clinical technologies within the perioperative setting
- Identifies education needs and facilitates clinician training on perioperative systems to promote adoption and positive experience of new/updated perioperative IT solutions.
- Develop and monitor Perioperative Key Performance Indicators
- Maintain perioperative clinical expertise with staff rounding, participation in shared governance council committees and meetings
- Works across IS and perioperative operations as a liaison and consultant to identify technology needs, seek feedback, interpret clinical system design requests, and coordinate end-user involvement in the integration of new or updated perioperative systems.
- Analyzes perioperative IT applications and clinical workflows for process improvement opportunities and recommendations.
- Ensures perioperative clinician representation on entity and enterprise-wide IT projects, committees, optimization, or other efforts.
- Works with leadership to identify perioperative SMEs for project work as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Req 2 years Clinical peri-operative experience
- Req Recent (within the last 5 years) experience clinical peri-operative experience and workflow experience
- Req Self-starter with ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change initiatives within the perioperative clinical setting.
- Req Strong presentation skills to executives and chief clinicians
- Req Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Req Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and evaluation skills.
- Req Understanding of clinical workflow processes, resulting in current and future workflow enhancements and performance improvements to support nursing and physician practice.
- Req Good organization skills with ability to prioritize multiple activities in a rapidly changing environment.
- Req Strong customer service focus.
- Req Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).

Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Req Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The annual base salary range for this position is $95,680.00 - $158,230.00.
